About Amka Mama Vision
Empowering women to arise and lead
"When a woman rises, she lifts her entire community with her."
- Jane Akinyi, FounderThe Journey of Amka Mama
"Amka Mama" - meaning "Arise, Woman" in Swahili - was born from a simple yet powerful belief: every woman deserves the opportunity to rise and lead.
Founded in 2015 by a group of passionate Kenyan women, Amka Mama Vision began as a small community initiative in rural Kiambu. What started with just 15 women meeting under a tree to share experiences and support each other has grown into a registered NGO serving over 20 counties across Kenya.
Our founder, Jane Akinyi, envisioned an organization that would not just provide aid, but would empower women to become agents of change in their own communities. Today, that vision lives on through thousands of women who have found their voice, their strength, and their purpose.
